Grammatica and art nveva dela general lengva of all Peru, called Qquichua language, or language of the Inca was published in Lima, Peru, in 1607. This volume is one of the first records of a language that did not have a system written before the Spanish conquest. It is a grammar of Quechua, the predominant language of the Incas, as was spoken at the time the Spaniards arrived in Peru. The author of the compilation is the Jesuit Diego González Holguin.

The Jesuit from Extremadura, Diego González Holguín, is a key character for the historical study of Quechua, especially of its Cuzco dialect, from which he also elaborated a Vocabulary.
